One measurement of brightness is not enough  ( look for both high color brightness and high white brightness. The VS220 has ):
- Color Brightness : 2700 lumens (color light output)
- White Brightness : 2700 lumens (white light output)

3 x Brighter Colors, and reliable performance

Brilliant image quality requires high color brightness and Epson 3LCD projectors have 3 x Brighter Colors than leading competitive projectors.

One brightness measurement (lumens) is not enough. A projector‘s specification needs to show both high color brightness and high white brightness. If color brightness is lower than white brightness, images may be dark, dull and lose detail. If not provided, be sure to ask for a projector’s color brightness specification.
Get consistent, true-to-life color with Epson, whether you’re projecting images with deep, dark colors or a white screen with text.

Epson vs220 svga 2700 Customer’s Review

By Carrie (Midwest)
I was using the Epson EX3210 projector for my business presentations, which are more picture oriented than text oriented. I have used this Epson vs220 svga 2700 lumens in a handful of presentations, and, honestly, with the exception of the HDMI connectivity of the VS220 & the keystone feature of the EX3210, I am having a hard time discerning many differences between the two machines.
Both machines are nice, fairly quiet projectors. Both are easy to set up, easy to navigate, and they are the same size (11.6"x9"x3.1") & weight (5.1lbs). Both perform quite well for their size & price.
The USB Plug & Play is a fantastic feature on both machines - we've used it for presentations & for watching movies (however, if you want a projector for movies, the higher end theater projection Epson and a nice set of speakers would be a better choice). The sound is not spectacular.
There is a lumen difference between the 2 machines: the VS220 has Color Brightness: 2700 lumens & White Brightness: 2700 lumens, while the EX3210 has Color Brightness 2800 lumens & White Brightness 2700 lumens. I can't see much difference.
So, which to chose? If you want HDMI, go with this machine. If HDMI isn't necessary, you will be happy with either machine. Both are easy to use, easy to store, easy to carry. Combined with the capability to read directly from a thumb drive, this projector is a handy little business tool.
